Boat Trip & Walk in Killarney National Park

A courtesy bus will depart the Great Southern Killarney at 2.30pm sharp taking guests to Muckross House & Gardens. An easy 5km walk follows as we head out along the Muckross peninsula.The wild heather and marsh land contrasts with the manicured lawns at Muckross House. Pass the  stunning lake views and the famous Colleen Bawn rock. 

Dinis Cottage will soon be reached and refreshments will be served at the cottage.This historical cottage dates back to the 1700s. It is located close to the Old Weir Bridge and the Meeting of the Waters where the 3 lakes of Killarney meet. It has operated as a tea rooms for more than 200 years. Dinis Cottage was built by the Herberts, previous owners of Muckross House and the surrounding park; it was once a hunting lodge and retains a wonderful Victorian magic and charm.

From Dinis Cottage, small boats will bring guests back to Muckross Boathouse. On the boat tour you will see very scenic and panoramic views of Muckross House, Dundag Point, Torc Mountain and Devil’s Island (the only piece of Killarney the devil owns!).

At Muckross, the courtesy bus will transfer all guests back to the Great Southern Killarney.
